149th Convention

Venue onsite: International Headquarters, Adyar, Chennai 600 020, India

Online: Main programs are webcasted online on TS Youtube, facebook and Convention website. Registration for online participants is not required.

To whom: All members of the Society in good standing are welcome to attend as delegates. Non-members are not eligible for accommodation but can register for the Convention and meals at the canteen.


Leadbeater Chambers (LBC): LBC has rooms with two beds and an attached bathroom in each room. A third bed can be added in some of the larger rooms for a group of three. Availability is limited. Hot water via solar water heater.

New Quadrangle (NQ): NQ has rooms with two beds and an attached bathroom in each room. Availability is limited. Hot water via solar water heater.

Basic Accommodation (BA): The basic accommodation has been upgraded, but the numbers are limited. On sharing basis with more than two delegates in one room and common rest room. Hot water via electric geyser is available.


Accommodations will be decided by the Convention Committee during December 2024 and the result will be informed by email. Allotment will be on first come first serve basis. Registration requests sent in after the last date of registration will not be accepted. Registration without stay will be open until the start of the Convention.

PACKAGES (Register-button on the menu bar)

The Register link (button on the menu bar) has all the varieties of attending with the rates.

The rates are per person from 30 Dec. 2024 dinner to 5 Jan. 2025 lunch. LBC is Leadbeater Chambers.

Days before and/or after will be charged with normal rates.

Overseas delegates:
  1. LBC: US$ 420 – incl. registration fee, accommodation, and meals at LBC.

  2. LBC: US$ 190 – incl. registration fee, accommodation, meals at Indian canteen, No accommodation.

  3. NQ: US$ 210 — incl. registration fee, NQ accommodation, and meals at BCL canteen at Bhojanasala.

  4. BA: US$ 150 — incl. registration fee, basic accommodation, and meals at BCL canteen.

  5. BCL: US$ 110 – incl. registration fee, and meals at BCL canteen. No accommodation.

  6. Registration only: US$ 70 - without meals and accommodation.

Indian delegates:
  1. LBC: Rs.14,500 — Registration fee, accommodation, and meals at LBC.

  2. NQ: Rs.6,500 — Registration fee, NQ accommodation and meals at BCL canteen.

  3. BA: Rs.5,000 — Registration fee, basic accommodation and meals at BCL canteen.

  4. Rs. 3,500 — Registration fee and meals at BCL Canteen, without any accommodation.

  5. Rs. 500 — Registration only without meals and accommodation.


Less than 4 years: no charge. 4 years or more: full charge


Overseas delegates: Registration (button) leads first to pay online and then to fill the delegate(s) details. When you succeed with this all is done. If you do not succeed to pay with the online, payments will be collected from you ‘on arrival’. Then you may pay the applicable package rate by Master Card, Visa credit card. Please remember to take your travel insurance before arriving at Adyar. NO PAYMENT IN CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Delegates from India: Registration (button) leads to pay online in INR and then to fill the delegate(s) details. When you succeed with this all is done. If you pay by cheque, make it payable to The Theosophical Society (include The) and send it to the address: Convention Officer, The Theosophical Society, Adyar, Chennai 600020, India. It is important that you send an email to convention@ts- adyar.org soon after completing the payment process, mentioning the following: delegate(s) name, bank name, date of transfer, and transfer reference ID.


Last date to register with accommodation is 26 November 2024

In person registration starts at the Enquiry Office on 29 December.

Delegates who are (or cannot be) allotted accommodation will be intimated by email on 7 December 2024.

Delegates who cannot be allotted but have paid will have their payment returned after the Convention.

Canceling by 10 December 2024

For delegates wanting to cancel their registration and accommodation requests, the last date will be 10 December 2024. After this date, no amount will be refunded. If the cancellation request is received before 10 December then the package amount (in INR) minus the registration fee will be refunded after the Convention.



When you have paid and registered but need to specify the arrival and/or departure times, email to the Convention Officer.


Healthcare facilities on the campus are basic - no special facilities can be provided for members who are ill or for women with babies. Ordinary medical attention will be available for minor complaints and there are no facilities to treat serious illnesses. Overseas delegates are advised to take a travel insurance cover before coming to TS Adyar.


In our second in-person Convention since 2019-20 we have not lost sight of the fact that Covid is still a concern. Even though conditions around the world have loosened, in a gathering such as ours we would be irresponsible to ignore normal health precautions. 

  • We encourage the Use of Masks during our larger sessions if you feel concerned 
  • Awareness of Social Distancing
  • Masks will be available for those requesting them
  • Hand Sanitizer will be available around the campus
  • As always Medical Personnel will be on hand for the duration of the Convention

All these measures are intended not only to protect ourselves, but to protect each other.
